November 6, 2006, San Diego, CA: Newtex Industries, a leading integrated manufacturer of high-tech, heat resistant products for industrial and safety markets, today announced the appointment of seasoned executive Jerome (Jerry) L. Joliet as President and CEO, effective immediately. Founder Bal Dixit will continue in his role as Chairman to focus on strategic initiatives, new market opportunities, and technical innovation.
"Jerry brings over sixteen years of senior leadership experience to Newtex, and I am thrilled to have him on board." said Bal Dixit, Chairman and founder of Newtex. "His expertise will be invaluable as we focus on new product development, sales growth, and operational excellence."
Mr. Joliet was most recently with Diageo, the world's leading premium drinks producer, where his roles included Director of Innovation and Director of Customer Operations. Prior to Diageo, Jerry was with Cisco Systems where he managed the implementation of eHub, a multi-million dollar supply chain initiative, and also served as Production Manager for the company's Enterprise Router line. He holds an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, a Master of Engineering Management from Northwestern University, and a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan. He also served as a Lieutenant in the US Navy Nuclear Submarine Force.
