ClearConnect achieves up to 85dB EMI/RFI noise reduction to ensure that only Clean Power goes into home theater equipment

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Newpoint, a leading manufacturer and distributor of innovative, cutting-edge power management solutions, has announced the Experion(TM) family of surge protectors. Newpoint will be showcasing the new products, which feature the company's advanced ClearConnect(TM) power conditioning technology, at the 2006 International CES tradeshow, which is being held in Las Vegas from January 5 to 8.

"Home theater enthusiasts invest heavily in their systems and want confidence that the surge protector will protect their sensitive electronics and valuable data from harmful surges, spikes, and noise," said Kris Lichtscheidl, Category Marketing Manager for Surge Protection at Newpoint. "Experion surge protectors provide the optimum level of protection while enhancing the viewing experience for users, by providing the cleanest power possible."

Newpoint's ClearConnect power filtering technology filters EMI/RFI noise and ensures that only clean power enters the attached electronic equipment. ClearConnect filters out the spectrum of noise, including snow, vertical lines, ghosting, and loss of audio depth, that can plague home theater users by degrading output quality. The technology reduces equipment damage and maximizes the sharpness of pictures, the reliability of data, and the crispness and clearness of sound.

The surge protectors provide ratings ranging from 2,100 joules to 5,000 joules depending on the model. The line of products provides a broad range of protection options. Users have a choice of products that can incorporate telephone/DSL line protection with a two or single line splitter, RJ-45 data line protection and up to four sets of coaxial/broadband line protection with gold connectors that provide up to 2.4 GHz bandwidth. This will allow the user to connect VCR, cable box, satellite, or antenna to any coaxial outlet without performance loss.

The Experion line of surge protectors provide various configurations of up to ten outlets, both standard and adapter spaced. Every model in the family also offers Newpoint's Power Blocker(TM) automatic shutdown technology that further protects attached equipment by automatically disabling the conductive power to connected equipment, once the surge protector reaches capacity, thus keeping equipment safe from further surges.

The entire Experion line is designed to optimize usability and to enhance ease of use. The power cords, which range from six to ten feet for crucial mobility, featuring a right angle plug at 36 degrees for easy positioning of both cord and furniture. Protection and ground indicator lights indicate at a glance that the unit is working properly. The upper end, Experion Plus(TM), models feature advanced ClearConnect noise filtration technology which achieves up to 85dB (compared to 70dB for Experion) and includes an audible alarm that indicates to the user that the surge protector has exhausted its useful life and must be replaced.

The Experion products, which will be available in May 2006 and carry from $200,000 to $750,000 Limited Connected Equipment Warranty. Experion surge protectors are priced from $59.99 to $199.99 MSRP depending on the model.
