Our cover story examines Xilinx's inventive new stacked silicon interconnect technology behind the world's largest FPGAs with up to 2 million logic cells. The issue also offers readers methodology and how-to articles, including an article by engineers at Maxeler Technologies and JP Morgan who designed a high performance computer system combining FPGAs and processors that can assess risk and financial value 30 times faster than a previous system relying solely on multicore processors. And, a tutorial how-to article in this issue walks readers through an old-school method of using Xilinx tools in command-line mode.
