High performance bulbs are brightest DOT approved upgrade available - Philips X-treme Power High Performance bulb and package

Farmington Hills, MI... Philips Automotive Lighting North America, a division of Royal Philips Electronics (NYSE:PHG), has introduced the new Philips X-treme Power high performance headlamp bulbs. The new bulbs employ proprietary technology that enables drivers to replace standard halogen headlamp capsules with a bulb that produces up to 80% more light.

According to Michael Scheiven, Director, Aftermarket Channel, "Performance customers want the best, brightest, and highest technology light they can get - and X-treme Power is it. Our new bulbs not only deliver an aggressive style that makes any car really stand out from the crowd, but also provide a dramatic increase in nighttime driving visibility. That makes driving at night safer and less stressful. We think our new X-treme Power bulbs will appeal to more than just performance enthusiasts. They're ideal for any driver who's interested in making nighttime driving safer."

Philips X-treme Power bulbs are street legal and DOT compliant. Based on Philips' recommendation to always replace bulbs in pairs, X-treme Power headlamp bulbs are offered in a two-bulb package.

Philips Automotive Lighting, a world leader in automotive lighting technology and inventor of the Halogen bulb and Xenon HID lighting, produces a full range of DOT approved lighting for replacements and upgrades. Philips upgrade lighting also includes NightGuide, an advanced safety headlamp bulb that projects specific colors of light into three distinct visual zones, CrystalVision Ultra, high performance lighting that creates the look of HID, and MotoVision, a lighting breakthrough for all types of two-wheeled motor vehicles. Philips Automotive Lighting lines cover every type of application including headlighting, signaling, and interior lighting.
