Spokane, Washington, USA - ACE Production Technologies, Inc. has announced the addition of a FocalSpot FSX-075, high definition X-Ray system to the company's newly-formed Selective Soldering Process Development Lab. ACE selected the FocalSpot, Inc. technology based upon many factors including ease of use, flexible inspection capabilities, and image capture quality.
In making the announcement, Alan Cable, President and CEO, said, "An essential part of selective soldering process development is inspection and verification of quality results. Our customers need to qualify their process, and X-ray inspection is the most reliable method of knowing that the solder connections that they create are reliable on the inside as well as on the outside. This new system is a key addition to our customer service laboratory."
The Verifier Plus (FSX-075) is a High-Resolution X-Ray Inspection system for solder quality verification and defect detection. Designed for fast intuitive BGA/SMT solder quality inspection and low density material analysis applications, the Verifier Plus supports a broad range of failure analysis and inspection applications from general quality inspection to rework verification. Greater than 200X magnification provides excellent viewing of the smallest electrical interconnections.
ACE's recently-opened lab is fully equipped with the latest soldering equipment as well as process development tools, thermal sensors, monitors, and more. The process Lab is equipped with all of ACE's selective soldering tools, including traveling mini-wave systems, advanced solder fountains, spray and drop-jet fluxing systems, the new LTS 200 Lead Tinning system and a nitrogen generator. The Lab is also equipped with X-Ray equipment and Solderability (wetting balance) and Cleanliness (ionic) test systems.
