Press release date: August 14, 2008
Sierra Instruments, Inc. of Monterey, California announced the publication of the first of a four part white paper series on its core technology for mass flow instrumentation entitled "A Tale of Two Thermals."
Part one of this white paper series details the two types of advanced thermal technologies, each complementary to the other and each with unique advantages. "A Tale of Two Thermals" explains how these two thermal sensing technologies directly measure gas mass flow based on principals of heat transfer and are commonly called Capillary Thermal Sensor Technology and Immersible Thermal Sensor Technology. The paper also explains how taken together, both of these very different technologies, cover the entire spectrum of gas mass flow measurement and control applications found in industry.
Sierra has also created a new White Paper section on their website that features the use of mass flow meters and controllers used in petroleum, chemical, pulp & paper, and other applications.
