The new capacitive sensors are called capaNCDT CSH, where "H" stands for "Hybrid". The CSH-FL is a special version. These sensors are also produced with the hybrid design, however they are just 4mm high and so are suitable for installation in restricted spaces. A special ceramic substrate is used to produce the hybrid sensor, which results in particularly high temperature stability. The external appearance of the sensor is similar to the standard version. On the sensor face, the only noticeable difference is the insulation rings. There are two significant benefits due to the integrated cable on the sensor side: the installation space is significantly reduced and the risks arising from an additional plug connector, e.g. accidental detachment, are eliminated. This new technology and modular sensor design enables Micro-Epsilon to respond very quickly to different customer requirements.
The CSH sensors are now available with measuring ranges between 0.2mm and 1.2mm. Other measuring ranges are also being developed.
Needless to say, these sensors also provide all the well-known benefits of the standard sensor range such as replacement of the sensors without having to re-calibrate, measurement without requiring an ground conductor for electrically conductive targets and resolution in the nanometre range.
