Solar Atmospheres and Solar Manufacturing Have Released a Technical Procedure For Temperature Uniformity Surveying For Vacuum Furnaces

Solar Atmospheres and Solar Manufacturing Have Released A Procedure For Temperature Uniformity Surveying ( TUS ) of Vacuum Furnaces That Will Meet and Satisfy The Requirements of The AMS 2750D Specifications. The Procedure is Being Made Available to All Vacuum Furnace Users Who Have Had Challenges in the Past in Satisfying the Requirements of AMS 2750D.

Souderton, PA, 11/22/2010 - Solar Atmospheres and Solar Manufacturing have released a procedure for Temperature Uniformity Surveying of vacuum furnaces. This document has been created to provide a surveying method that complies with the AMS2750D requirements.

This newly written Temperature Uniformity Survey (TUS) illustrates the proper method recommended to meet the requirements of AMS 2750D. Solar Atmospheres and Solar Manufacturing, two sister companies who hold over twenty patents relating to vacuum furnaces, released this procedure to the public benefiting companies who must comply to this SAE Standard. This technical process outlines several considerations for TUS including: thermocouple support structure, pre-survey furnace preparation, furnace instrumentations, furnace class, furnace working zone, standard survey temperatures for most vacuum furnaces and the results.

This procedure considers the many critical aspects of AMS 2750D that must be fully satisfied to produce acceptable processing results and the following outline could be applied to any vacuum furnace user to satisfy their TUS requirements. Real Fradette, a Senior Technical Consultant at Solar Atmospheres, states "We recommend this procedure to companies (utilizing furnaces under SAE standards) that are required to meet the AMS 2750D, while reducing the number of failed tests due to survey errors." This procedure is available to download on Solar Atmospheres website (http://www.solaratm.com/white-paper-downloads/vacuum-furnace-maintenance-/optimizing-procedures-for-temperature-uniformity-surveying-for-vacuum-furnaces).
