New Software Update for Grant Squirrel Data Loggers

Press release date: January 9, 2014

SquirrelView V3.8 Adds CSV/TXT File Import and Quick Reporting

CHESTERLAND OH – CAS DataLoggers is pleased to announce a new software update for our popular Grant Squirrel Universal Data Loggers. SquirrelView V3.8 and V5.1a firmware updates the SQ2010, SQ2020 and SQ2040 Squirrel Data Loggers and improves Grant's already-robust functionality by adding CSV/TXT file import and quick reporting. You can download the new update on our Grant Downloads page at http://www.dataloggerinc.com/downloads/grant.php. Whether your application is in heavy industry, cold chain supply or lab research, you can automatically monitor your process and collect data by using a datalogger as a more reliable and accurate method than manual measurement.

Updates in this release include importing of csv and txt files into analysis, a fix for the OQ610 Portable Temperature data logger, and quick reports when using degrees Fahrenheit. If your SQ20xx data logger is running a firmware version of V4.2 or older, it will need to be updated to the latest version. For a detailed walkthrough see Grant's Firmware Reprogramming Instructions. Additionally, this Youtube video shows how to reprogram the SQ2010, SQ2020 or SQ2040 data loggers firmware via the SquirrelView software: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dtcY_ykHJPI&list=UUOUbtnEUAx4GaNbtrRekFAg&index=3&feature=plcp.

Equipped with universal analog inputs, the Squirrel series is fully compatible with a wide range of temperature probes and with many other sensors to measure a wide variety of values including Temperature, Humidity, Current, Voltage and Resistance. Grant Squirrel SQ2020 data loggers offer an ideal out-of-the-box solution available in 3 configurations: the SQ2020-1F8 logger, the high-speed SQ2020-2F8 logger, and the SQ2020-2F8 WiFi wireless logger. CAS DataLoggers can also supply more demanding applications requiring up to 100 readings per second with the 4-channel Squirrel SQ2040 4F16 model.

Used all over the world thanks to their ruggedness and reliability, Squirrel dataloggers are battery-powered portable solutions for your standalone applications. Lightweight and easy to place anywhere, each data logger within the Squirrel series is backed by a 3-year warranty. Using the integrated 4-button keypad, users can configure their Squirrel data loggers in the field without needing a PC or laptop connection. It's easy to view logger status, setup and real-time graphical data in meter mode.

SQ2020 and SQ2040 data loggers can store up to 14 million points of data storage on non-volatile 128M internal memory which can be extended simply by using removable MMC/SD cards. Additionally, these data loggers boast a flexible communications array including Ethernet, USB, and an onboard RS232 communication port for connection to a PSTN or GSM modem.

Additionally, the Squirrel SQ2020 Wi-Fi data logger gives you the above communications options along with integral Wi-Fi wireless Ethernet networking—all in a compact and easy-to-use instrument.

All Grant Squirrel dataloggers include FREE SquirrelView setup and download software for PCs. SquirrelView's user-friendly, spreadsheet style interface allows quick configuration of the data logger, speedy download of data and direct export of stored data to a PC application including Excel™. The optional SquirrelView Plus software offers additional benefits such as graphical data analysis and advanced reporting options.

Wayne Porter, Applications Specialist for CAS DataLoggers comments: "Their battery operation makes our Squirrels a great standalone solution, and you can also set them up if you don't have a PC around. The price includes software and our experienced tech support to get you up and running ASAP."
