Press release date: July 12, 2006

Romoland, CA-July 12, 2006-Design engineers looking for a faster, smarter way to specify and select high-reliability transformers and inductors for leading-edge applications will find the new Magnetics Selection Guide & Short Form Catalog from Datatronics Romoland, Inc., saves time and eliminates headaches.

The new Datatronics Selection Guide & Short Form Catalog provides specification information on dozens of transformers and inductors. For designers of life support, high-reliability and mission-critical equipment, the guide includes descriptions of standard products available off-the-shelf as well as information that will assist them in designing special or custom devices.

Datatronics Romoland is a world leader in transformers and inductors for equipment supporting a wide range of aerospace, avionics, military, medical, telecommunications and portable device applications. The company designs and manufactures standard and custom magnetic components: power inductors, RF magnetics, switching transformers, telecom transformers, high-voltage transformers, LAN modules/filters, and fine-wire magnetics as small as 56 AWG.

Magnetic components from Datatronics Romoland are found on many of today's most advanced military aircraft, satellites, missile systems, radio communications, heart pacemakers, heart defibrillators, night vision goggles and numerous instruments found in a wide range of industrial devices. The company's extensive custom design capabilities include engineering, materials analysis, environmental test, manufacturing, burn-in test and more.

Datatronics Romoland is widely recognized for its expertise in magnetics design and manufacturing technology. The company is qualified to some of the industries most demanding performance, quality and environmental standards, such as MIL-PRF-27, MIL-PRF-21038, MIL-STD-981, NASA Space Station Approved, ISO 9001:2000, AS9100 (pending) and J-STD-001 (pending). The company's popular high-voltage Model 4283-1200 Series Flyback Transformers provide a cost-effective means of driving high impedance loads requiring up to 2,000 Vdc. They are application-specific devices, which can be configured to meet a wide variety of medical, military or commercial applications.

Designed to move data at rapid speed in rugged environments, the low-profile 4256-1003 Series Dual Databus Interface Transformers from Datatronics Romoland feature a space-saver surface mount package that is only 3.94 (0.155 in) mm tall for high-density electronic equipment. They offer a minimum input impedance of 4,000 or 7200 Ohms over the full temperature range of up to -55 to +130°C.

Designed for pulse and signal applications in timing, gate drive and data transmission circuits, the 4257 Pulse Transformers from Datatronics Romoland feature a rugged sealed design that meets Mil-PRF-21038, requirements for military, aerospace, instrumentation and other hi-reliability applications. They offer a dielectric strength of 250 Vrms, insulation resistance of 10,000 MOhms and will withstand a maximum peak pulse voltage of up to 50 V.

Extensive information on industrial and commercial magnetics, including product specification and applications data, is also to be found in the Selection Guide and Short Form Catalog. The company's other business unit, Datatronic Distribution manufactures a wide range of standard and custom magnetics that find application in power supplies, automotive, computers and peripherals, industrial controls, instrumentation, medical devices and telecommunications. Products include switch mode power supply transformers and inductors, RF magnetics, common mode chokes, gate drive transformers, current sense transformers, pulse transformers, wideband RF transformers, telecommunications transformers and LAN filters.

Magnetic components from Datatronic Distribution are widely recognized for their robust design, including ultra fine wire winding and expertise in inductors and transformers for surface mount assembly. The company's products are qualified or certified to some of the industry's most demanding performance and safety standards, including: QS9000, ISO 9001/9002, UL, BABT, CSA and VDE.
