Omikron Presents Internationally Unique Comparison Technology at the CeBIT 2007
The advantages of standardized customer and address data are many: optimized credit ratings, more effective business intelligence, reduced marketing expenses. However, as a result of typos, variations in word order, and other deviations, customer data will often be written in different ways.
Intelligent similarity analyses - Omikron Data Quality GmbH's specialty - are required in order to merge the diversely entered data.
Now Omikron has developed and registered the patent for a completely new similarity analysis process for global data. The new technology makes it possible to compare data from various alphabets, such as Arabic, Cyrillic, and Japanese, while considering the characteristics of each individual language and writing system. For example, one can omit vocals in Arabic script, and for Chinese writing symbols not only the tonal, but also optical similarities must be considered.
Intelligent similarity analyses are a vital requirement for initiatives like Customer Data Integration (CDI), Master Data Management (MDM), Customer Data Hubs (CDH), and certain data warehouse projects. Now, the new Omikron process makes global data comparisons possible as well.
Omikron will present the worldwide exclusive process at the CeBIT in Hall 4, Stand G58.
