New Position for Solar Atmospheres' Technology Program


Souderton, PA. -- Don Jordan, Solar Atmosphere's Vice President of Heat Treating and Corporate Metallurgist, has accepted a new position as Vice President for Corporate Technology, starting August 1. In this position, Mr. Jordan will assume responsibility for all corporate technology and development giving oversight to the R&D team. Current projects include new vacuum carburizing applications and gas nitriding. Mr. Jordan has worked at Solar for over five years with over 25 years of experience in metallurgical engineering.

To fill the need for managing heat treating operations at Solar's Souderton plant, Jamie Jones has been promoted to the position of Plant Manager. Mr. Jones will oversee the daily operations of the two heat treating facilities in Souderton. At these locations Solar operates 15 vacuum furnaces 24/7 as well as tempering furnaces and cryogenic equipment. Mr. Jones has been employed at Solar for twelve years with plant experience in the brazing department and most recently as a sales engineer.
