London: Densitron (Europe) has introduced a new series of industrial TFT displays which is mechanically compatible with and boasts performance akin to Active Matrix OLED (AMOLED) displays. Displays in the new range have slim profile and come in 2.4", 2.8" and 4.3". They offer 800:1 high contrast ratio and long-term availability guarantee. Fringe Field Switching (FFS) technology is utilized by the displays to create up to 170° wide viewing angles in both horizontal and vertical directions. Resistive touch screen version is available for all TFT modules in the range with the 2.4" and 2.8" displays come with optically bonded touch sensors to enable excellent sunlight readability.
Apart from comparable performance, the new TFT range is also mechanically compatible with AMOLED displays. Take the 2.4" TFT as an example, its thickness, resolution and colour depth are identical to a Densitron AMOLED of the same size, and has interfacing (MPU 8/9/16/18bit) and overall dimensions (42 mm x 59 mm) which are very similar to a 2.4" Densitron AMOLED.
The new TFT range is currently available to the UK, Ireland, Italy and Germany.
