Press release date: November 16, 2006

Ogura has just released their new series of Hysteresis Brake (PHT-D). The brakes operate via permanent magnets and are designed to deliver constant torque regardless of slip speed. Since there is virtually no wear, these units are ideal for constant tension applications, such as wire or film, but can also be used in a variety of torque limiting applications, such as bottle capping, fastener tightening or overload protection for machinery.

Each PHT unit uses a double magnet to create the greatest amount of torque in the smallest space possible. Torque ranges from almost 0 to 62 in. pds. over 9 different models. Each model has the ability to be adjusted individually within their given torque range. The smaller models have a maximum operating RPM of 3,600, while the larger models are limited to 1,800 RPM. For more information on this clutch please contact Ogura Industrial Corporation, (732) 271-7361. 100 Randolph Rd. Somerset, NJ 08873, or for immediate information visit our website http://www.ogura-clutch.com.
