Press release date: November 15, 2011

Testing and recertifying off-load hooks has traditionally been expensive and time-consuming, particularly if they fail testing and require replacement. Instead of delays and downtime, Delta "T" Systems' Cranston Eagle Hook Exchange Program is fast, efficient and economical.

As the exclusive factory-certified US agent for Cranston Eagle dba Eagle Products, Delta "T" simplifies hook recertification and replacement. They will exchange a client's hook for either a new, or refurbished five-year recertified model in new condition, for an economical exchange price. The exchange costs less than buying a new hook outright. It also offers a significant reduction in the inherent risks in the testing and recertification process.

The exchange process is simple. After Delta "T" receives a client PO, a replacement hook is sent to a vessel anywhere worldwide. The old hook is then shipped back to Delta "T" in the same crate for testing. A minimal core fee is charged only if the hook fails recertification.

Because the replacement hook is received on the vessel before the old one is removed, customer downtime is measured in hours rather than weeks. There's no risk associated with whether the hook will pass load or dye penetration tests, or whether it will show up to the vessel on time.

All mounting hardware is included and 30-month replacement parts are sent free-of-charge when they are due to be installed. For client convenience, the new hook is entered into the Delta "T" Hook Me Up database. This enables Delta "T" to notify the customer when factory-mandated service or testing is required.

The exchange program is preferable to the practice of having hooks tested locally when the vessel is in for maintenance. Not complying with the manufacturer's requirements leaves owners liable for injury or damage caused by unseen microscopic cracks, hydrogen embrittlement of the springs or excessive wear.

Delta "T" provides Eagle Products' new product sales, replacement parts, testing and recertification for US-based markets. Its new load testing equipment is capable of pull-testing marine hooks up to 50 metric tons.
