New Hire, Promotion and Expansion at AkzoNobel, Soliant


August 25, 2010 - Lancaster, S.C., AkzoNobel, Soliant announces the appointment of Tanya Philpot-Miko to Business Development Leader, the promotion of Len Poole to Global Technical Services Manager and completion of the first phase of their Americas Region headquarters expansion program.

New Business Development Leader - Tanya Philpot-Miko

Tanya brings over thirteen years of progressive experience in the plastics industry with responsibilities in coating formulation, technical service, and business development in various markets. Most recently, Tanya held the position of US OEM, specifically General Motors, Business Development Manager at Red Spot Paint. She also has work experience with General Motors and BASF. Tanya graduated Cum Laude with a BS Degree in Professional Chemistry (ACS certified) from Eastern Michigan University. Tanya and her husband Joseph reside in the Detroit, MI area.

Promotion of Len Poole to Global Technical Services Manager

Len will manage the activities of the global technical services team to ensure effective delivery of global technical services and support to customers for the Soliant Film products. Len brings over thirteen years of progressive experience in the plastics industry with responsibilities in engineering for thermoforming and injection molding, tooling development and design, technical services and business development. Most recently, Len held the position of Technical/Business Development Manager AkzoNobel, Soliant. Len, his wife Stephanie, and daughter Abigail will relocate to the Lancaster S.C. area from Michigan.

Expansion: New Design Studio, Product Development Lab, and Offices

AkzoNobel has finished the first phase of their Americas Region headquarters expansion program including the renovation of 20,000 sq. feet for a new design studio, product development lab and additional offices for customer support. The new design studio will be state-of-the-art benchmarked by their Global Design Center and work in conjunction with AkzoNobel's world renowned Foresee Color Trend and Design Group near Antwerp, Belgium. Foresee is an extension of a customer's design and research arm, able to deliver highly relevant color, graphic, and product solutions. The new lab will support the design studio with product samples, research & development, and added capability for producing performance coatings.
