MCHENRY, Ill., July 24, 2006 -- Jessup Manufacturing Company recently unveiled a bold new logo for its Glo Brite® Safety Guidance System. Using photoluminescent technology, the Glo Brite® system absorbs and stores ambient light that is immediately visible in the event of a blackout or smoke. Glo Brite® is a non-electric, non-toxic, non-radioactive compound.
The new logo is a right-pointing black arrow with accent stripes and the name "Glo Brite" in bright yellow. "Our logo," said President Rob Jessup, "perfectly symbolizes what we're all about - and that's safety. Like our products, which are easily identifiable in emergencies, our new logo instantly identifies Glo Brite® as a name people can rely upon when it matters most."
The new logo already has been unveiled in Europe, where it received glowing reviews. Last year, Jessup opened a sales office in Belgium to address the increased demand for photoluminescent technology overseas.
Al Carlson, vice president of marketing, said Jessup's new Glo Brite® logo also is designed to build upon the success the company has had in providing emergency signage the New York City area. In the aftermath of September 11, New York enacted Local Law 26, requiring all high-rise Class E office buildings 75 feet or taller to install photoluminescent markings and signage in stairwells. Such signage aids in evacuation from buildings in the event of failure of both the power and back-up power.
According to Carlson, Glo Brite® has numerous applications beyond high-rise offices. "Hotels, hospitals, schools, public facilities, manufacturing plants - wherever people rely on a safe, reliable pathway in case of an emergency - they can utilize our low-cost, easy-to-install Glo Brite® system."
Jessup remains in the forefront of technology through participation in the code and standard process. "By being part of the code and development process," said Carlson, "we give our R&D department a heads-up on potential developments for new products." Jessup is represented on several industry boards and advisory committees concerning photoluminescent technology both domestically and internationally.
