Press release date: December 30, 2009

CLEVELAND - Retailers using 130V halogen lamps to save money and enhance the customer experience can do better with new GE 130V Silver Saver(TM) Halogen PAR lamps. These new GE lamps - 53-Watt, 66-Watt and 79-Watt spots and floods - deliver as much as a 12 percent reduction in energy costs and 20 percent longer life when compared to standard and halogen-plus 130V PAR lamps with comparable light output. Over the life of the lamp such advantages could amount to $5/socket savings at $0.10/kWh.

GE 130V Silver Saver Halogen PAR lamps serve virtually any lighting purpose - indoors and out. Applications include accent lighting, merchandising displays and general illumination in offices, lobbies and public buildings. With a rated life of 6,000 hours, the GE 130V Silver Saver Halogen PAR lamps lower maintenance costs and ease maintenance hassles: Employees spend less time replacing burned out lamps and more time serving customers.

"Energy-saving, longer-life products are in high demand among retailers and property management professionals, and we're delivering big with the new GE 130V Silver Saver Halogen PARs," says Kraig Kasler, halogen product manager for GE Consumer & Industrial - Lighting. "These new products appeal to any company that cares about the bottom line. That's a broad spectrum."

GE 130V Silver Halogen PAR lamps debut less than a year after the launch of the innovative GE 120V Silver Saver PAR 38 lamps, which also provide up to 12 percent in energy savings versus standard halogens, and 20 percent longer life. The GE Retail HIR product line, also new last year, is up to 42 percent more efficient than standard halogens.
