New Enhanced Web Site and Catalog from Reid Supply

Muskegon, Michigan, February 4, 2009¡V Reid Supply Company, a Michigan-based global distributor of industrial parts, components and supplies, revamped their e-commerce web site, ReidSupply.com, as well as their new full-color 2009 industrial products catalog.

The new ReidSupply.com gives the Customer a cleaner and easier web shopping and information experience, plus, the site now offers shipping costs on most products, at the time of order. The most noticeable changes in the new web site happen behind the scenes.

"We've improved our product category structure to get our Customers to the exact product that they need faster," says Ben Cossar, Reid Supply Company Web Designer. "This improvement will definitely present a better search result from our tens of thousands of parts available."

With these technical upgrades, the company says they are now able to inform Customers of product shipping costs, on most of their products at the time of their internet or telephone orders. This, they say, saves the Customer potential frustration of unexpected freight costs.

"Providing shipping costs on most of our products at the time of order takes much of the shipping surprise away from the Customer," says Greg Palmer, Director of Marketing at Reid Supply. "Add to that, easier navigation tools, a color-coded category system, our intuitive 'QuickNav' navigation and our exclusive 'Smart Search' technology, and we believe that Reid Supply Customers will be able to drill down into the web site and very quickly to find and order their parts."

Investing in new data management, higher speed connections, and a new improved shopping cart boosts the site's performance and feel. Beta test Customers helped the company's Web Services team to refine and streamline the look and feel of the site, and according to Palmer there are more changes in store for the site.
"We are constantly striving to give the Customer exactly what they want," says Palmer. "That is why our team is always checking with Customers to make sure that our site continues to grow with their needs. This is an organic web site and it grows and changes with Customer needs."

Schools and colleges may be interested in one of the newer features of the web site, the Reid Knowledge Base. This new portal has links to FREE CAD drawings of over 90% of everything in the Reid Supply Catalog, engineering and educational books, Ask the Expert resources, FREE Resource Guides, Books and Manuals, FREE e-newsletters and connections to Reid Customer Service people who can help Customers locate hard-to-find products.

In addition to the newly designed web site, the company launched its easy-to-use 2009 catalog which one Customer has called a "masterpiece of page design." With over 860 pages of products for industries including Manufacturing, Alternative Energy, Medical, Aviation, Packaging, Food Processing, Oil and Gas, and many others, the company says its new 2009 catalog continues to grow with their Customer's needs.

"By constantly improving our electronic and catalog ordering systems, we continue to care for our Customers by providing them the best new products and the best ways to acquire them," says John Carrier, President of Reid Supply Company. "We believe in our rallying cry that, 'while others may be bigger, nobody will serve the Customer better'. And that is a key to us staying a strong supplier and partner for our Customers."
