New Energy-Efficient Technology Lowers Operating Costs for Wastewater Treatment and Recovery

Turbo CAST® opens new markets for ThermoEnergy Corporation

WORCESTER, Mass. - ThermoEnergy Corporation (OTCBB: TMEN), a leading supplier of wastewater recovery systems, today announced the introduction of Turbo CAST®, a new, energy efficient, high-flow technology in the company's CAST® product line.

Turbo CAST® is specifically designed for use in areas where energy costs are high and in applications where there are high wastewater flows. Turbo CAST® incorporates the latest in heat recuperation technology that allows for the recovery of up to 90% of the thermal energy used in the system.

"Turbo CAST® opens up opportunities in a number of high flow industrial markets where previously we didn't have a competitive solution," said Cary Bullock, CEO of ThermoEnergy Corp. "By combining vapor recompression technology with a vacuum assisted flash distillation process, we offer a highly energy efficient, very simple to operate system that reduces operating costs. Our sales team is excited to be able to offer Turbo CAST® to our customers."

"Turbo CAST® will be incorporated into all of our wastewater recovery systems, including systems for recovery of ammonia, metals, BOD, and glycol," continued Bullock. "And like our original CAST® systems that will remain the standard for efficiency in many applications, Turbo CAST® will have high-uptime, low-maintenance costs and a small footprint. In addition, Turbo CAST® can be retrofit to our existing CAST® systems improving the energy performance of these systems significantly."

Turbo CAST® joins Thermo CAST®, Mobile CAST®, and CAST® in ThermoEnergy's growing family of recovery technologies. These systems are the most cost-effective solutions for the secondary treatment of wastewater and the recovery of process chemistry.
