Lyndex-Nikken's new E450 presetter by Elbo Controlli features a ground granite column and base, a spindle body assembly on spring roller cages ard optical scales. The spindle body on the E450's machine base limits run-out error to less than 2µm. A radial rotation spindle brake eliminates the error of rotational axis misalignment. The optical scales of the E450 detect interference produced by part movement through the use of a glass ruler attached to the fixed part of the machine. Each optical scale has a resolution of 1µm.
The E450 incorporates a double system of prismatic rails for X-axis movement with three double re-circulating ball bearing sliding blocks and monorail with one sliding block for the Z-axis. Axis movement for the E450 include manual, rapid, and manual micro-metric adjustments.
