New Features and Improved Functionality Demonstrate Cybertrust's Commitment to its MSS Leadership Position

HERNDON, Va., June 20 / -- Cybertrust®, the global information security specialist and leader in managed security services (MSS), today announced improved capabilities available through its full portfolio of MSS offerings. Delivered by Ubizen®, a majority-owned subsidiary of Cybertrust, the new Cybertrust Compliance Report provides Cybertrust MSS clients with the ability to demonstrate to internal and external auditors that controls required by industry and regulatory standards are in place and have been tested based on a globally recognized information security standard.

The Cybertrust Compliance Report provides a detailed description of control requirements and documents an organization's corresponding control activities. As the report is based on COBIT 4.0, an IT governance framework and supporting toolset that helps to bridge the gap between control requirements, technical issues and business risks, it serves as an independent third-party validation of an organization's security measures. Cybertrust MSS customers can use the report to demonstrate compliance to a variety of internal and external reviewers, including auditors, government examiners, senior management, the board of directors and business partners.

"Cybertrust takes a solid and flexible approach to compliance reporting," said Sandra Palumbo, senior analyst, Yankee Group. "Instead of tailoring a report specific to a single regulation, such as Sarbanes-Oxley or HIPAA, users can create a high-level compliance report based on the COBIT framework. This allows customers to satisfy multiple audit requirements at the same time, and helps to reduce the burden around reporting."

"There is a lot of hype around compliance in our industry, with many product vendors and MSSPs claiming that they deliver specific reports for Sarbanes-Oxley, NERC (North American Electric Reliability Council), HIPAA and others," said Kerry Bailey, senior vice president of global services, Cybertrust. "Our approach is to simplify compliance reporting by mapping to a globally recognized information security standard that applies universally to a variety of business models and technologies."

Numerous enhancements to Cybertrust's MSS platform over the past nine months has solidified the company's MSS market leadership position and demonstrated its commitment to meeting customers' unique business needs. For example, customers now also have the option of the Cybertrust Intelligence Service, which delivers concrete advice and recommendations made by senior security intelligence analysts that address customers' unique business needs. In addition, enhanced analytical reporting functionality is accomplished using advanced data warehousing capabilities. This includes the addition of pre-defined online analytical processing (OLAP) data cubes and an OLAP interface, which allows customers to select custom parameters to analyze their data. This analytical functionality provides customers with the ability to evaluate trends such as the top sources of network attacks, the systems that are attacked most frequently, the frequency of harmful attacks and their evolution over time.

To Cybertrust, the global MSS market leader, managing security is not just a question of managing a set of security devices; the real work lies in evaluating threats, responding swiftly to incidents, setting up remediation and enforcing security policies. Cybertrust's MSS options are the only solutions that allow customers to manage, monitor and staff their security environments -- or outsource any or all of these functions -- in the way that best suits the needs of the organization's strategy, regulatory environment, culture and in-house competencies. Customers benefit from Cybertrust's expertise and intelligence, enabling them to proactively prevent attacks and address security threats using the people, policies and technologies already in place.
