New Office Opens in Washington, D.C. to Focus on Government Network Analysis Solutions

MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Network Instruments, a leading provider of innovative analysis solutions for in-depth network intelligence and continuous availability, today announced that it established a new office to serve the network management needs of its growing base of federal government customers in the Greater Washington metropolitan area.

Network Instruments' government customer base has increased significantly over the last 18 months with many new prominent federal customers, including the Department of Defense (DOD), U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, Department of Education, Department of Energy, Federal Aviation Administration, and NASA. This trend of increased purchases by federal agencies has also been reflected nationally according to leading technology analyst group, IDC. Currently the U.S. government is one of the largest purchasers of network equipment among vertical industries in the country, spending $4.3 billion on equipment in 2005. Government purchases of network equipment are projected by IDC to increase at a compound annual growth rate of 8.0% during the 2005-2010 forecast period (Source: IDC: U.S. IT Spending 2006-2010 Forecast by Vertical Market, Doc #202096, Jun 2006).

The new office, supporting government clients and customer growth, will be led by Steven Bowen, a sales engineer and manager with over 20 years experience in providing network management solutions to government agencies.

"Network Instruments provides great solutions for a growing government market," said Bowen. "Both the Civilian Agencies and the DOD provide critical services that affect and protect all Americans. Using Network Instruments solutions gives them the ability to meet their goals by proactively troubleshooting network issues and ensuring optimal network performance. The value proposition of Network Instruments products in monitoring and protecting mission-critical networks is second to none."

The opening of the office coincides with the first national seminar series held by Network Instruments, focusing on issues of network forensics, VoIP implementation, and reporting. The Network Rules seminar will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2006, from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm, at the Sheraton Premiere at Tysons Corner located at 8661 Leesburg Pike in Vienna, Virginia. The event is open to network professionals and complete details are available on the Network Instruments web site.
