Houston, Texas (May 31, 2006) - National Bronze & Metals, Inc. (NBM) President, Michael Greathead, has been selected as one of five finalists for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award (EOY) in the Manufacturing and Distribution Category to be announced in Houston, Texas on June 22, 2006.
The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year award honors entrepreneurs whose ingenuity, hard work and perseverance have created and sustained successful, growing business ventures. The year long program concludes with an annual conference in November in Palm Springs, California. Founded and produced by Ernst & Young, the EOY award is nationally sponsored by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. The EOY program, which originated in 1986 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is now in its 20th year.

In 1986, Mr. Greathead was transferred to the United States to join NBM as Vice President of Finance; he was appointed Senior Vice President in 1990, and President of the Company in 1993. He has overseen the expansion of NBM's operations in the USA over the last thirteen years, including the construction of a new foundry in Lorain, Ohio.
During this time he has seen the company grow to more than 80 employees and has seen the range of products carried by NBM increase to nearly 100 alloys and more than 10,000,000 lbs. of inventory held in the Houston and Lorain locations.
Michael J. Greathead obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from the University of Zimbabwe and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1979. He worked for six years at Price Waterhouse in Zimbabwe (1972 - 1977) and then with Ernst & Young in Iran and South Africa (1978 and 1979). He continued his career as a Financial Accountant for a leading freight forwarder in Zimbabwe (1980 - 1981) and later joined Metal & Chemical Industries in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1982 (part of the Non-Ferrous Metal Works Group based in Durban, South Africa).
