NHTSA Administrator David Strickland Scheduled to Speak at SAE International World Congress



DETROIT, -- David Strickland, Administrator, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, will provide the keynote address on Thursday, April 15 at the SAE International 2010 World Congress at Cobo Center in Detroit.

Strickland will speak at 10 a.m. (EDT) in the AVL Technology Leadership Center, located W1-52.

Strickland was sworn in January 4, 2010. Prior to his appointment, he served for eight years on the staff of the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation.

The SAE 2010 World Congress will be held April 13-15. Host company for the event is Ford Motor Company and the Tier One Strategic Partner is Magna. The theme of the conference is Ecollaboration.

The schedule for the 2010 World Congress has been condensed to three days to provide a time-efficient, focused immersion on automotive technology and innovation. The event is built to showcase the industry's leading-edge technologies and illustrate how those technologies can support sustainability.

Topics and events were selected by engineers intent on keeping the material focused at engineers. New for the 2010 World Congress is a new "Innovators Only" exhibition featuring more than 80 companies who accepted and met the SAE 2010 World Congress innovation challenge. Other new elements include technology lounges that will feature dialogue and information exchange, and "Chat with the Experts" discussion groups, that are led by subject matter experts and are intended to open dialogue on key topics and issues.
