NETGEAR, a worldwide provider of technologically advanced, branded networking products, has announced record revenues of USD 4 million in the first half of 2007, which sustains its multi-million dollar revenues and consolidates its position as a major player in the regional IT market. The company further announced that it is set to highlight cutting-edge products including the award-winning Digital Entertainer HD (EVA 8000) and ReadyNas at the upcoming GITEX 2007, which will be held from September 8-12, 2007 at Dubai International Exhibition Centre.

NETGEAR made its entry into the Middle East market in June 2006 and has since aggressively expanded across the Middle East, attaining a strong presence in the booming markets of UAE, KSA, Qatar, Lebanon and Egypt with a portfolio of industry-leading products and an extensive distribution network. The company's impressive revenue results for the first half of 2007 augur well for its targeted 200 per cent earnings growth for the entire year.

"Consumers in the Middle East are receptive to new technologies, and it is a natural progression for users to look for technologies that will integrate their cutting-edge devices into a powerful system. As a leading provider of networking products, we have focused on developing digital technology products that will cater to this emerging demand such as our groundbreaking EVA product range," said Ahmad Zeidan, Channel Sales Manager, NETGEAR Middle East.

During GITEX 2007, NETGEAR will be showcasing its Digital Entertainer HD, which enables consumers to seamlessly stream digital content over their home networks to their high-definition home entertainment systems. Using High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) technology and an open standard, the cutting-edge device streams video, audio and image formats from Windows, Mac, network storage devices, USB media devices and the internet. The Digital Entertainer automatically discovers HD movies, TV shows, music files and personal photos on a home network and creates a library without any media server software.

"Being the region's largest IT exhibition, GITEX is a powerful platform for us to launch the Digital Entertainer HD to the Middle East market. Our state-of-the-art receiver is the ultimate entertainment support device that allows users to effortlessly access digital content on high-definition system and watch movies or listen to music anywhere in the house with multiple Digital Entertainers. This revolutionary product has garnered various recognitions from prestigious publications such as 'Best of CES' from CNET, LAPTOP Magazine, Chicago Tribune and a host of other publications as well as cited in a feature story 'The Hottest Technology of 2007' at Forbes.com," added Zeidan.

NETGEAR is also set to highlight the award-winning ReadyNas that utilizes Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) for unrivalled data protection and automatic scalability. The company recently acquired US-based Infrant Technologies for USD 60 million, which will enable it to offer a complete line-up of feature-rich, scalable and cost-effective storage solutions with network attached storage (NAS) devices led by the ReadyNas range. In addition, NETGEAR will also showcase its array of high performance and scalable Smart Switches with the ability to support 802.3af Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) on all 24 10/100 ports as well as the Dual-Mode Cordless Phone with Skype (SPH200D), the first dual-mode DECT cordless phone to support both landline phone calls and Skype(TM) Internet calls.

NETGEAR's affordable, easy-to-install security and software products combine reliability with high performance in a diversity of environments. Its suite of products grouped under the Ethernet networking, broadband and wireless networking segments and comprising switches, adapters, wired and wireless routers, and gateways, enables users to share internet access, peripherals, files, digital multimedia content and applications among multiple personal computers and other Internet-enabled devices.
