NEMA Publishes ANSI/NEMA MW 1000-2008 Revision 2-2010 Magnet Wire



ROSSLYN, Va. - The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) has published ANSI/NEMA MW 1000-2008 Revision 2-2010 Magnet Wire. MW 1000, produced by NEMA's Magnet Wire Section, is the premier standards publication for general requirements, product specifications, and test procedures for magnet wire. This revision updates MW 1000-2008 Revision 1-2009.

This revision features:

o new solderability requirements for specifications MW 28-C, MW 82-C, and MW 83-C that use the IEC multiplier approach for determining solder bath immersion times

o updates to the Refrigerant Extraction Test to reference an informative table of properties of selected alternative refrigerants to R22. The standard emphasizes the need to recycle refrigerant after the Dielectric Breakdown After R22 Conditioning Test
