NEMA Welcomes Confirmation of EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy



ROSSLYN, Va. – The member companies and staff of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) welcome the U.S. Senate’s confirmation of Gina McCarthy as the new administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).



Previously, McCarthy was head of EPA’s air and radiation office and contributed significantly in the Obama administration’s efforts to address global warming. She also assisted in the development of a regulation to limit common pollutants such as mercury.



“Our staff has worked with Ms. McCarthy on ENERGY STAR® and other initiatives at EPA over the past several years. We look forward to continuing our relationship with her as she heads the agency,” said NEMA President and CEO Evan R. Gaddis.
