NEMA Publishes NEMA SB 11-2011 Guide for Proper Use of System Smoke Detectors



ROSSLYN, VA-The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) has published NEMA SB 11-2011 Guide for Proper Use of System Smoke Detectors.

Developed by the Signaling Protection and Communication Section, the guide, now published with the SB 11 designation, provides technical information on basic fire alarm systems with a focus on early-warning smoke detection devices. Early warning smoke detection has contributed to saving more than 90,000 lives since 1970. This guide covers smoke detectors connected to a control panel, and has been updated to include the technology advancements over the past 10 years.
