NEMA Publishes ANSI/NEMA/WC53/ICEA T-27-581-2008 Standard Test Methods



for Extruded Dielectric Power, Control, Instrumentation and Portable Cables for Test

ROSSLYN, Va., August 4, 2008-The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) has published ANSI/NEMA/WC53/ICEA T-27-581-2008 Standard Test Methods for Extruded Dielectric Power, Control, Instrumentation and Portable Cables for Test. It was developed by the Insulated Cable Engineers Association (ICEA) and was approved by NEMA.

This document is a revision to the 2002 edition. It addresses RoHs regulatory requirements, corrects technical changes in ASTM, and updates references. It adds tests for heavy metal concentration limits (per RoHS), low-halogen insulation, heavy metal, halogen content, and low-halogen jacket. It includes category 5e cable changes in frequency from 125 MHz to 100MHz.
