NEMA CEO Appointed to Serve on the Federal Advisory Committee on Supply Chain



ROSSLYN, Va. -National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) President and Chief Executive Officer Evan Gaddis was appointed August 2 to serve on the Federal Advisory Committee on Supply Chain Competitiveness. The committee will advise the Secretary of Commerce on the development and administration of programs and policies to expand the competitiveness of U.S. supply chains including programs and policies to expand U.S. exports of goods, services, and technology in accordance with applicable U.S. regulations. This work will strongly support efforts to expand U.S. exports of goods and services and create economic opportunities for American businesses for American workers.

The National Export Initiative (NEI) report to the president notes that "a globally competitive U.S. supply chain infrastructure is critical to the success of the NEI and to sustained American economic growth." After hearing this announcement, Acting Secretary of Commerce Rebecca Blank stated her expectation that the committee will focus on specific, actionable, and measurable ways that the Department can respond to challenges of the existing infrastructure that is seen as inefficient and outdated.
