NADCA Offers Free Membership with Purchase of Industry Standards Publication



Wheeling, IL, February 11, 2008 - With the release of its latest version of the Product Specification Standards for Die Castings Publication NADCA, The North American Die Casting Association, is offering free individual level membership.

"NADCA represents the entire die casting industry," states Daniel L. Twarog, President of NADCA. "With this economic environment we believe it's more important than ever that die casters come together and collectively represent the industry. That's why NADCA is pleased to offer new individual members a year's free membership with the purchase of the Product Specifications Standards publication."

This seventh edition is the definitive resource for design and production guidance for both users and manufacturers of conventional high pressure die castings. The manual presents tooling and processes information, alloy properties, standard and precision tolerances, GD&T, design guidelines, quality assurance provisions and more. Revisions for this edition include information on porosity, including typical skin effect depths; Dept. of Defense research findings on magnesium properties; additional aluminum and magnesium alloy data, including high Mg containing 380 aluminum and new creep resistant magnesium alloys; information on RoHS and REACH compliance; a new simplified formula for calculating draft angle; information on "Tools for improving Product Integrity", updated photographs/ line drawings and a Frequently Asked Questions section.

Valued at $120, the Product Specification Standards for Die Castings will be offered for free with any new individual level membership, which costs only $85 for the year. Twarog continues, "In fact, this a great value for existing members because NADCA recently announced the suspension of a portion of its member dues. So members who previously were paying $90 for the year now only pay $85."
