Duluth, Georgia, January 10, 2009 - Murrelektronik designed the MB Cap Ultra after noting an increased frequency of voltage drops in industrial processes was resulting in a considerable loss of time, money and process data. Capable of being integrated into new and existing power supply systems, the buffer module protects production processes and installations against voltage fluctuations that occur in industrial environments.
The MB Cap Ultra stores energy and bridge voltage fluctuations from up to 38 seconds at 10A load or up to 6 minutes at 1A load. The modules can also communicate with the control or with a PLC/PC connected to the system via signal contacts or a USB interface, allowing a controlled reaction to changes in the operating mode.
Additionally, Murrelektronik equipped the MB Cap Ultra with integrated ultra capacitors instead of lead batteries often found in conventional uninterruptible power systems (UPS) for maintenance-free operation.
