Murata Machinery's Fabrication Division Announces New Product Lineup at FABTECH 2013

CHARLOTTE – Murata Machinery USA Inc. has announced plans for a sweeping new product lineup to its Muratec brand. Effective throughout the company's popular Motorum line, the updated offerings will include new models with improved controls and fresh features. There's even a revamped color scheme.

"Murata's status as the world leader in turret punch press and automation technology carries with it a responsibility to the industry," said Cary Teeple, sales manager for Fabrication Products. "We're always seeking ways to make our existing products and technologies better, of course, but we're also looking for ways to advance industry standards through Reliability by Design."

Teeple said Murata's entire Motorum product line will improve over the next several months and the changes have already begun.

Kicking off the product-wide update was the introduction of the 510 HPM Motorum 30 series machine. The first machines are installed and receiving great reviews. Called the TG series (Motorum 3048TG & 3058TG), these punches are offered in both Wiedemann and Spring Style turret configurations. The 33-U.S. ton servo-driven ram turret punch press's new Fanuc 31i PB control contains Murata's Intelligent Control Interface.

In August, Murata will debut its super-competitive Motorum 2048TS series. The high-speed 22-U.S. ton Motorum has a 50-inch by 100-inch table and is available in Wiedemann or Spring Style turret configurations.

"Murata has been selling this machine in Asia for several years and it has generated a strong record of successful installations," said Teeple.

The Motorum 2048TS will have the latest Fanuc Oi PB touch-screen control including Murata's Campath TRM as standard. The same large turret configurations in the company's Motorum 25 and 30 series machines will be offered in either a 44-station, 4 AI Wiedemann-style turret or in a 46-station, 4 AI spring-style turret.

Building on a solid performer that has been one of Murata's core products for nearly 12 years, the company in late fall will unveil the evolution of the Motorum 2044EZ.  The new Motorum 2044TC will provide enhanced performance specifications, a new Fanuc control and new color scheme.

Additionally, Teeple said, "Our automation evolution will continue to keep Murata at the head of the class in turret punch press automation technology. All standard load/unload cells –non part-sorting – are now modular. The FS automation series will give customers the option of converting to a tower at a later date. This exciting feature allows for system expansion when needed."

Based in Charlotte, N.C., Murata Machinery USA, Inc. specializes in applications, service and sales of turret punch presses. The company's Fabrication Division, formerly Murata Wiedemann, supplies mechanical and servo-driven turret punch presses. The Muratec dealer network throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico also distributes and services a complete line of automated stockers, loaders, and sorting equipment.
