Movius to Discuss Competitive Edge Gained by Carriers Adopting SaaS to Bring New Apps to Market

Webinar explores Software as a Service (SaaS) to deliver innovative revenue-boosting solutions

ATLANTA, Ga., U.S.A. - October 20, 2010 - Movius Interactive Corporation, a global leader in value added communication services, is to discuss how Software as a Service (SaaS) is helping carriers to bring innovative solutions to market ahead of the competition during a industry webinar next month (3 November).

The webinar will focus on how the SaaS model is being adopted by carriers to deploy the latest applications such as visual voicemail and voice-to-text as well as core voice messaging. By using SaaS, carriers are able to meet the challenges of controlling costs and protecting existing investments while accelerating the time-to-market for new solutions.

"Service providers are in an age where a highly competitive market demands the introduction of more new applications quickly to meet the requirements of constantly evolving subscribers," said Movius Senior Director of Product Marketing Sara Hughes.

"Pre-existing infrastructures along with resource and time costs have, in the past, made such deployments difficult. SaaS, however, eliminates the constraints by reducing financial outlays, lowering risks and generating new revenue streams."

Ms Hughes will be leading the Movius webinar with co-speaker John Butz, Senior Director of New Product Development for Neutral Tandem, which provides intercarrier connected networks. Movius' relationship with Neutral Tandem enables Movius to offer its software applications as SaaS offerings.

One of the latest additions to Movius' portfolio is Voice-to-Text which gives carriers the ability to offer a quick and easy way to convert subscriber voicemail messages to text which can then be sent by SMS or email. Carriers can deliver it quickly as a hosted service, without the need to integrate it with their pre-existing voicemail platform. The entire solution including voicemail box and transcription engine is hosted.

Surendra Saboo, President and COO of Neutral Tandem, noted: "For operators to succeed in today's climate a change from the traditional business model is needed. By utilizing hosted solutions, carriers can provide the services that consumers want without expensive capital intensive outlays."

The SaaS architecture leverages the Movius product range combined with Neutral Tandem's TDM and IP network to offer a flexible package with "Pay as You Grow" business models. The upcoming webinar will provide both qualitative as well as quantitative data to help carriers determine how SaaS can fit into their plans for offering new applications or optimizing existing services.
