Mansfield, TX, 76063
USA

Press release date: October 30, 2007

Mansfield, Texas, USA - October 30, 2007 - Mouser Electronics, Inc., known for its rapid introduction of the newest products, today announced it has entered into a North American distribution agreement with Spectrum Digital, Inc. (SDI), a leading supplier of design tools for digital signal processors and high-performance microcontrollers. SDI products include JTAG emulators, target boards for TI processors (DSPs, Davinci(TM) and OMAP(TM) platforms, and microcontrollers), debuggers, and complete development systems.

"We are excited about partnering with Mouser and meeting customer demands for TI DSP and microcontroller development tools," said Mike Strain, President of Spectrum Digital. "The convenience of obtaining these tools from one company should expedite engineers' development efforts and reduce their time to market."

According to Mike Scott, Mouser Vice President of Active Products, the distribution agreement with Spectrum Digital, Inc. capitalizes on Mouser's core competencies of rapid product introduction, extensive stocking, and promotion of the newest products to the design engineering community.

"We are pleased to add Spectrum Digital's innovative portfolio of design tools to our linecard in support of Texas Instruments," Scott said. "Stocking these tools will assist our engineering customers with their new TI DSP and microcontroller designs." SDI manufactures portable scan path emulators for Texas Instruments' DSPs, OMAP, DaVinci(TM), TMS470 ARM, and microcontrollers. The portability of these emulators allows engineers and programmers to take development to the application environment by using laptop or notebook computers, eliminating the need for an adapter card in a PC chassis.

The company also develops Evaluation Modules, DSP Starter Kits (DSKs), and eZdsp(TM)s for popular Texas Instruments' DSPs, DaVinci(TM), OMAP, and TMS470 ARM products. These targets are stand-alone circuit boards with expansion capability that allow engineers to evaluate hardware and software prior to developing their own products. This quick start-up mechanism allows the customer to get his product to market earlier by reducing engineering time. Mouser's broad-based product line, unsurpassed customer service, and streamlined warehouse operations make the distributor the design engineer's one-stop shop for all the components and associated development tools necessary for total project design.
