A Message from the MCA Chairman

"Win Globally: Innovate & Automate" was the theme, under which leading motion control companies and MCA members displayed motors, controls, amplifiers, feedback devices, power transmission devices and ancillary products, as the successful International Expo was held in Rosemont (Chicago).

In this economy, the theme of this Expo drives the point which we all must accomplish:

- INNOVATE to introduce new products to differentiate and offer increasing value;

- AUTOMATE to replace obsolete mechanical equipment with more versatile solutions to improve capital efficiency.

This is North America's largest Expo dedicated to automation technologies. And the theme of "innovate, and automate" was present throughout as the numerous, over 4000 attendees, registered for conferences and roamed sections which included Motion, Robot, Emerging Technology, Vision and Integrator Pavilions.

The conferences exposed the attendees to practical solutions and were well attended considering the economy. MCA presented material covering "Motor Technology Advances", "Drive Technology Advances", and "Motion Control Communications". The attendee reviews yielded a 4 on a scale of 5 - results indicating that the attendees were quite satisfied with the content.

The attendees roaming within the pavilions proved to be "quality" key individuals searching for solutions for existing applications or developing products for future growth. Following is a "view from the floor" as expressed by some exhibitors -" the attendees had real practical applications" - "the traffic is strong" - "pleasantly surprised with strong interest" - "the first day we had a surprising number of potential customers" - "you cannot put a value on the opportunity and exposure this provided".

Education and promotion of our technology is important, and we hope that you took advantage of this and participated and enjoyed this Expo. However if you missed it, plan on attending the second MCA business conference which is now in the planning for Jan 20-22, 2010 in Orlando.

Plans are underway which will increase the number of networking opportunities at this business conference; also we plan to update and expand our member directory. As we get closer, additional information will be forwarded via E-news alerts to you and over 25,000+ other individuals. Please put this date (Jan 20-22, 2010) on your calendar.

MCA member products and their technologies are essential for improving productivity, reducing cost and providing a competitive edge.
