Morgan Advanced Ceramics' Diamonex Products Business Showcases DLC Coatings at The Performance Racing Industry Trade Show

Visit booth #4748

Morgan Advanced Ceramics (MAC), a leading manufacturer of innovative ceramic, glass, metal and engineered coating solutions, and its Diamonex Products business, is showcasing Diamonex® Diamond-like Coatings (DLC) in booth #4748, at the Performance Racing Industry Trade Show, December 6-8, 2007 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL. Diamonex Products' booth features new graphics and a brand new look. The DLC coating is a superior-performance, thin-surface coating that provides high hardness, excellent chemical resistance and low friction.

Ideal for applications in the automotive and high performance racing industries, the DLC coatings increase wear life and reduce surface friction of metal components, including intake valves, wrist pins, spring retainers and cylinder sleeves. DLC coating provides 40% less friction than chrome coating and 10% greater surface hardness than tin, leading to less friction-oriented power loss and more wear protection.

Using patented plasma chemical vapor deposition (CVD) technologies, Diamonex Products creates a coating with chemical and physical properties comparable to diamond, but without long-range crystalline order. Diamonex DLC coatings are applied to the product at near ambient temperature, thereby maintaining tight dimensional tolerances. The high degree of vapor ionization used in Diamonex Products' DLC processes produce smooth, highly dense, conformal coatings with excellent adhesion. Diamonex Products' DLC coating can be specifically engineered to meet the performance requirements of each unique application.
