MonoSol Partners with EPA for Safer Products

MonoSol, LLC proudly announces that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recognizes MonoSol as a partner in their Design for the Environment (DfE) Safer Product Labeling program.

Four MonoDose(TM) films are currently recognized through the DfE program. These films are formulated with environmentally preferable chemistry to have a more positive health and environmental profile in line with the basic goal of the DfE initiative: to seek and promote innovative chemical products, technologies, and practices that benefit human health and the environment.

Each of the MonoDose films carrying the EPA's DfE logo is a polyvinyl alcohol-based thermoplastic film that is soluble in cold water. They are excellent for detergent and disinfectant packaging as well as for many specialty chemicals such as agrochemicals, pigments, dyes, and additives. The list of MonoDose DfE-approved films includes:

Product Properties
MonoDose M8630 Excellent compatibility with most powder and liquiddetergent
formulations, alkali-resistant to pH 14, and rapid solubility
in cold water.

MonoDose M8534 Approved under 40CFR180.920 for use as an inert ingredient in
pesticide formulation used on growing crops, organic solvent
resistant and rapidly soluble in cold water with excellen
heat seal characteristics.

MonoDose M8440 Excellent compatibility with most powder and liquid detergent
formulations, alkali-resistant to pH 14, and rapid solubility
in cold water. Engineered with higher slip for better
performance in automated secondary packaging processes.

MonoDose M8900 Excellent cold water solubility and resistance to both alklie
and acidic chemicals. Compatible with most detergents and many
strong oxidizers.

The EPA's DfE program works in partnership with industry, environmental groups, and academia to find ways to prevent pollution. This in turn reduces the risk of chemical contamination for humans and the environment. For more than 15 years, the DfE program has evaluated human health and environmental concerns associated with chemicals and processes in a range of industries. DfE focuses on industries that combine the potential for chemical risk reduction with a strong motivation to make lasting, positive changes. The DfE logo allows individuals and industries to make wise choices by identifying safe and effective products.
