Molded Fiber Glass Co.
55 Fourth Ave.
Union City, PA, 16438
USA

Press release date: January 5, 2012

Molded Fiber Glass Construction Products (MFG CP), has been selected to manufacture fiberglass forms that help create 9 levels of Architectural cast in place concrete. The city of San Diego broke ground on the construction for a new 497,652 square foot Library in July 2010. The new library will consist of nine floors, a charter high school, two levels of parking, an auditorium (for community events and performances) and Wi-Fi coffee bar. Project completion will be July 2013.

The Molded Fiber Glass CP team was awarded the project by Ceco Concrete Construction. MFG CP supplied the New Library over 2,600 standard waffle forms in five different sizes. These waffle forms will be used to create the suspended ceiling throughout the library. The waffle forms constructed at MFG CP in Kansas are lightweight, economical to use and produce an aesthetically pleasing finish, are easy for contractors to use and help to offset high labor costs. This is a similar project to one recently completed in Cerritos California using the same type of Waffle Forms.

MFG CP, formed in 1962 and a charter member of the World of Concrete, manufactures a complete range of one-piece round column forms (RCFs), dome and pan forms for one-way and two-way joist slab forms, and custom forms for cast-in-place concrete construction applications. Made of fiberglass reinforced thermo-set composites, MFG concrete forms can significantly reduce finishing costs and are re-usable.
