NCP's Universal VPN Client Supports Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.0 - Secure Integration of Smartphones and Pocket PCs in the Corporate Network
NUREMBERG, Germany, June 18/ / - NCP engineering GmbH has extended support of the Windows CE operating systems of its Secure Entry CE Client with support for the Windows Mobile 6.0 operating system. The software was officially signed by Microsoft's Mobile to Market Initiative. The Secure Entry CE Client is available immediately from NCP sales partners in the version 2.3x. A 30-day full version of the Secure Entry Client is available for testing and can be downloaded at http://www.ncp.de/english/download/testsoftware/index.html.
The Secure CE Client under Windows Mobile 6.0 in the variants, Standard, Classic, and Professional provides highly secure access to the company-internal data network via a VPN tunnel for smartphone and Pocket PC users. However mobile providers and manufacturers of mobile devices can also use the Clients to offer VPN services to their customers.
The Client software communicates with VPN gateways from different manufacturers and is suitable for use in any remote access VPN environment. Convenience is ensured by the integrated configuration wizard for the configuration PC and an intuitive graphic user interface on the mobile end device. For E-mail push services a special connection mode ensures automatic re-establishment of the VPN tunnel to the central VPN gateway. Intelligent connection management prevents interruptions of a wireless connection while data is being transferred, e.g. in the event of wireless failures or when changing access points in the WLAN or at hotspots. Secure CE Client supports strong authentication processes and has an integrated Personal Firewall.
