Press release date: September 12, 2012

Cardiff - Mesuro, the Cardiff University spin-out, which offers testing and services solutions for the semiconductor industry, has announced successful completion and installation of its Open Loop Active Harmonic Load Pull system at Miyoshi Corporation, Itami, Japan. This system represents the company's first success in what it sees as the potentially lucrative Japanese market.

The Mesuro Open Loop Active Harmonic Load Pull system is configured to enable Miyoshi to improve development of its power RF LDMOS products and in particular provide higher quality data to enable customers to more easily integrate the Miyoshi product within final system designs. The 'turnkey' recommendation saw Mesuro deliver a fully integrated solution, not only in providing its specialist hardware and software, but also the additional ancillary equipment, such as the Vector Network Analyser, Signal Sources, DC supplies and power amplifiers.

Mesuro's load-pull facilities will utilise the company's open loop active harmonic and Waveform Engineering technology offering its customers the opportunity to obtain the data required for improved amplifier designs. The systems will also be capable of extracting the 'Cardiff behavioural Model' formulations, suitable for use within the CAD environments employed by many designers.

Miyoshi representative, Mr Kenji Nakamura, Device Modelling Principal Engineer, commented, "We chose this Mesuro 'turnkey' solution because it solves the problems such as the cost and accuracy of measurements resulting from device modelling-work for our products. This solution seems to be the fusion of recent advanced measurement instruments and Mesuro's expertise, which has been cultivated and pursued for many years of their research. We believe it can take on the core of EDA techniques in the future, especially in RF amplifier design as a field of our product development."

Simon Mathias, VP of Sales for Mesuro added, "This success is a culmination of a long period of evaluation and testing and provides an excellent springboard for us into the Japanese market. We believe we can help Miyoshi deliver the business and technical improvements expected from this purchase and look forward to a long-term relationship between our two companies."

It is expected that the two organisations will undertake further collaboration in order to maximise the return to Miyoshi.

About Mesuro
Headquartered in Cardiff, UK, Mesuro focuses on commercialising RF test and measurement technologies resulting from Cardiff University's world-renowned Centre for High Frequency Engineering. Mesuro's measurement solutions overcome many of the limitations inherent in traditional design and testing processes by providing complete information and control of high frequency signals of the circuits under test. This allows for the development of an integrated development process that streamlines the development and testing cycle and reduces time to market. In addition to offering turnkey active load pull solutions, Mesuro also offers a wide range of testing services.
