Miller to Showcase New Pulsed MIG Systems, Digital Auto-Darkening Helmets at WESTEC 2008

APPLETON, Wis., January 14, 2008-Miller Electric Mfg. Co. will present its new Invision(TM) 350 MPa and Millermatic® 350P/XR-Aluma-Pro pulsed MIG welding solutions, as well as new Digital Elite(TM) auto-darkening welding helmets and spool gun-ready MIG welders at WESTEC 2008, booth #4161, March 31-April 3, 2008, at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Products on display will include:

o Invision(TM) 350 MPa MIG/pulsed MIG inverter, which features built-in pulsed MIG programs with excellent out-of-the-box performance for immediate productivity, especially in high-volume applications. The Invision 350 MPa is designed to solve distortion, burn through and spatter issues commonly associated with welding light gauge material. When combined with the S-74 MPa wire feeder, the two create a synergic system with easy-to-use one-knob control, freeing the operator from setting multiple parameters to achieve optimal results and virtually eliminating the pulsed-MIG learning curve.

o Millermatic® 350P/XR-Aluma-Pro combines the Millermatic® 350P all-in-one MIG/Pulse MIG welder with the new XR(TM)-Aluma-Pro(TM) gun to provide superior 4000- and 5000-series aluminum feeding and welding performance. This new system comes with everything necessary to weld aluminum "out-of-the-box," including the Millermatic 350P, a 25-ft. air cooled XR-Aluma-Pro gun, reversible .035-in.-3/64-in. u-groove drive rolls and a Teflon intermediate guide. The Millermatic 350P includes new pulse programming to meet the specific welding requirements of 4000- and 5000-series aluminum, while providing a more forgiving arc and increased consumable life. When combined with the XR-Aluma-Pro push-pull gun, special calibration software syncs the motor speeds in the gun and power source to provide optimal feeding.

o Miller Electric Mfg. Co.'s new Digital Elite(TM) Series auto-darkening welding helmets offer the flexibility of using one helmet for welding, cutting and grinding. Building on the features of Miller's popular Elite series helmet, the Digital Elite series also allows the user to quickly switch between four modes-Welding, Cutting, Grinding and X-Mode-while retaining the user's preferences for shade, sensitivity and delay. The X-Mode eliminates interference from sunlight and out-of-position welding angles, such as those found in pipe welding or in obstructed or hidden-cavity welds.

o The new Miller Millermatic® 180 with Auto-Set® (220V) is the simplest to use, most powerful machine in its class. With the new all-in-one MIG welder, the user simply has to set the wire diameter and material thickness. The patent pending Auto-Set technology automatically sets wire feed speed and voltage to achieve optimal welding results. It was designed to allow users to focus on their welding without worrying if their machine has been set up properly. Miller's new Spoolmate(TM) 100 series spool gun plugs directly into the Millermatic 180 without need for a control box to give the user an economical aluminum welding capability.
