APPLETON, Wis., November 13, 2005-Miller Electric Mfg. Co.'s Advanced Manufacturing Systems (AMS) group has created a new online tool to help guide users through the many options available to them when they choose an Axcess(TM) or Auto-Axcess(TM) system for their welding solutions. The new website will premiere on November 14 and will be on display at the AWS/Fabtech show in Chicago, November 14-16. The web-based tool can be found at MillerWelds.com/AMS.
Miller's Axcess series combines digital control technology with an inverter welding power source in a system that reduces the complexity of operating a semi-automatic advanced-pulse MIG system. The Auto-Axcess series seamlessly integrates an Axcess System with an interface for robotic automation.
"With the flexibility of the Axcess platform, there are a lot of different option possibilities," said Randy Broadwater, Miller product manager. "Rather than try to put together a lot of packages and combination numbers, the Configurator helps provide customers with different levels of options and make sure they have all the right stock numbers. When they're done, it will give them a summary sheet that will allow them to look at all of the stock numbers, a photograph of the particular options and selections they've made, list pricing and also some reminders about possible installation considerations."
The summary can then be printed out for the customer's own reference, taken to a distributor for quotation, or e-mailed to someone in the AMS group to request more information or personal contact.
"The Configurator Web page doesn't replace AMS's technical applications assistance hot line-it augments it," Broadwater added. "We offer innovative solutions to a manufacturer's welding problems. We have a lot of options and resources to meet diverse manufacturing customers' specific needs. To identify needs accurately we need personal contact to ask questions and to understand their needs and processes in greater depth. The Configurator is not intended to be a complete solution for all possible questions or situations. But for equipment integrators, engineers and others who know what they're requirements are, it can create a comprehensive summary of their system choices. For others it offers a good starting point and asks the questions we would initially ask and also brings up considerations the customer may not have thought of."
With its variety of software, hardware and robotic options and accessories, an Axcess system can meet a broad range of diverse and unique welding applications for high-volume manufacturers or fabricators. The Axcess system provides the perfect arc for MIG welding processes within most manufacturing environments and applications. This includes traditional spray, pulsed and short circuit transfer MIG and two innovative Miller hybrid processes, Accu-Pulse(TM) and RMD(TM) (Regulated Metal Deposition).
