COPENHAGEN, Denmark -- Mobile Application Gives Access to XProtect Platform Using Smartphones and Tablets
Milestone Systems, the open platform company in IP video management software (VMS), has announced the launch of XProtect Mobile, a new mobile application for XProtectVMS users. XProtect Mobile is specially designed for the XProtect VMS portfolio enabling users to effectively monitor their XProtect video from any place, anytime.
Security personnel, business owners, residential users or video surveillance installers who need to monitor installations can now view Milestone XProtect video from anywhere on an Android(TM) smartphone or tablet with the new XProtect Mobile. Developed by Milestone, XProtect Mobile is a free application that works seamlessly with all recent XProtect VMS products and will be available as a download from the Android Market on December 1, 2011.
With instantaneous access to Milestone XProtect surveillance from any place around the globe via Wi-Fi, 3G or 4G connections, operators can view and play back video from cameras. XProtect Mobile provides increased flexibility for surveillance through:
- Setting up multiple servers and connecting to cameras from different sites - Views taken directly from the XProtect(R) Smart Client - Controlling pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras - Constant access to view live video or to play back recorded video from anywhere
With the ability to monitor installations on smartphones and tablets, Milestone customers can now view incidents, ensure areas are secure and take immediate action by visually verifying occurrences from any location.
Milestone Systems has more than 100,000 customer installations worldwide, many with widespread areas that need monitoring.

Milestone XProtect products are designed with usability in mind. XProtect Mobile's unique, streamlined user interface has been specifically developed to consume a minimum amount of power and to fulfill surveillance needs when on the go.
Starting December 1, XProtect Mobile is available for smartphones and tablets running Android 2.2 or higher, and works with all recent versions of XProtect IP VMS. It will be downloadable from the Apple(R) App Store in spring 2012 for iPhone(R) and iPad(TM). Mobile solutions for XProtect IP VMS surveillance platforms are already available now for iPhone, iPad and Blackberry(R) through Milestone Solution Partners Lextech Labs and MobiDEOS.
