DEARBORN, Mich., February 9, 2006 - MicroManufacturing and NanoManufacturing will be featured prominently at The Total Manufacturing Experience, with Conferences and Exhibits on March 29-30 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The Total Manufacturing Experience is the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) "showcase event" for the world's manufacturers, suppliers, and educators. Attendees will be immersed in a 360- degree learning experience highlighting NEW technology applications, continuous improvement, automation & assembly and more. Conference sessions, exhibits, networking, professional development, and industry recognition activities will be available to attendees.
Whether the challenge is creating micro features on micro parts or on macro parts, participants in the MicroManufacturing Conference & Exhibits http://www.sme.org/micro on March 29-30 will be looking for ideas to improve their process. Exploring the many processes available, this conference will bring together industry professionals to discuss the latest developments and how to improve your process today. Industry's leading technical experts will discuss topics such as Precision Micro Machining Technology & Applications, Micro Molding Technology & Applications, Micro Fabrication, Micro Assembly and Micro Metrology. A pre-Conference Workshop, MicroManufacturing Fundamentals, will be offered on March 28.
The NanoManufacturing Conference & Exhibits http://www.sme.org/nanomanufacturing on March 29-30 will explore applications of nanotechnology and how they are transforming manufacturing. Discover how nanotechnology has already improved the performance and design functionality of many current products. Hear amazing new insights on the future ability to manufacture products and build structures atom by atom. K. Eric Drexler, PhD, Chief Technical Advisor, Nanorex Founder of Foresight Nanotech Institute will present Engineering from the Bottom Up - Productive Nanosystems and the Future of Technology. A pre-Conference Workshop, NanoManufacturing 101, will be offered on March 28. A tour of Micro/Nano Devices Laboratory at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory as part of the workshop gives a firsthand look at the tools and instruments required to manufacture at the nanoscale. See how nanotechnology is enhancing the functionality of space exploration systems, including "nano rovers" used to investigate the topography of distant planets.
The MicroManufacturing and NanoManufacturing Conferences include group luncheons, tabletop exhibit reception, and a tour of Biosense Webster, a manufacturer of catheters and 3D cardiac mapping software and hardware.
