Microchip Technology Launches Really Simple Syndication (RSS) Feeds to Provide Customers With Easy and Convenient Information Access

CHANDLER, Ariz., Oct. 3, 2006 [NASDAQ: MCHP] - Microchip Technology Inc., a leading provider of microcontroller and analog semiconductors, today announced a new service to provide customers with easy and convenient access to the latest updates on Microchip's news and technical product and design documentation-Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feeds. RSS is a very powerful, yet easy-to-use, technology that "pushes" relevant headlines and alerts to subscribers, as soon as they become available. Once you set up the feeds, via any free RSS reader (or client) software, you can click on the headline links back to www.microchip.com/rss for the full text. Whenever you see the RSS icons on Microchip's site, you can click on them to subscribe.

Available now at www.microchip.com/rss, Microchip's RSS offerings include separate feeds with information on the latest datasheets, errata, application notes, user guides, reference manuals, and financial, product and corporate press releases. The next phase is expected to include additional product information and Microchip's monthly microSOLUTIONS e-newsletter. Microchip also plans to add individual RSS feeds for each of its product lines.

"Microchip's RSS feeds provide yet another avenue to help our customers succeed, through immediate notification and access to our most current news and technical documentation," said Mitch Little, vice president of Worldwide Sales and Applications at Microchip. "Communication is vital, and RSS is an effective method for Microchip to share our latest technical knowledge-further enabling our customers' design and development efforts."
