Press release date: October 23, 2008
Fluid Research Corporation (www.fluidresearch.com) announced the production of the new Microballon Meter, Mix, and Dispense machine designed to dispense microballons with little or no breakage.
Dispensing microballons is one of the most difficult applications; a microballon is a glass sphere added to an epoxy material when dispensed to make the material dispensed lighter while maintaining most qualities of the material. A very popular filler added in the aerospace industry.
When adding microballons as a filler, a breakage rate of up to 80% can be expected, depending upon factors such as pumps, material viscosity, and material agitation. Fluid Research's dispenser for microballon filled materials reduces the shrinkage rate to a nominal amount.
Fluid Research's dispenser for microballon filled materials exclusively features ViscoTec's Perfectly Dosed Progressing Cavity pumps to ensure nominal breakage of the microballons while featuring the ability to easily integrate with robotics to further increase accuracy, repeatability and quality.
Fluid Research also recently released the new website, developed other new dispensing equipment, acquired a new facility to triple their manufacturing floor space, and added new management staff. All of these new additions over the past year further Fluid Research's dedication to educating customers to the benefits of automation; from efficiency and consistency to health and safety; automation elevates these features to a level that cannot be obtained anywhere else.
