The company will focus predominantly on solutions for better product security, increased productivity, seamless compliance and optimised quality, while demonstrating their global and local capabilities.
"This year's exhibition concept for interpack focuses on the key benefits for collaboration with Mettler-Toledo: our global reach with local excellence. Our regional service experts, around the globe, ensure that our customers continually receive a high-level of local and international support and advice around-the-clock. This allows food and pharmaceutical manufacturers to enhance their productivity from reduced operational downtime, protect their brand reputation by producing high-quality safe products through deploying the latest product inspection technologies and facilitate business growth through compliance with local and international product safety standards and regulations. In addition, manufacturers can gain competitive advantage from utilising Mettler-Toledo for all of their product inspection and industrial weighing needs, so we can implement the most effective technology solution to future proof their business", said Jana Meier, Marketing Manager and interpack Project Leader, Mettler-Toledo Product Inspection.
The guiding theme for this year's exhibition is effective process data collection and Management Information Systems (MIS). The theme is embodied by a series of loops which will demonstrate equipment used in typical food and pharmaceutical production lines. Taking today's challenges of a global world into consideration, Management Information is the key ingredient for manufacturers to stay ahead through monitoring and controlling multiple production lines across one or more facilities. With a network of sales and service organizations, Mettler-Toledo offers qualified specialist advice and support to manufacturers around the globe. In addition, manufacturing facilities located around the world enable Mettler-Toledo to stay connected to its customers, allowing for rapid response supported through local expertise.
Visitors will learn more about Mettler-Toledo's proactive service concept from mobile service ‘islands' located around the stand. These points will be used to explain how Mettler-Toledo can support process efficiency and compliance with standards and regulations. Service experts will provide information on how manufacturers can reduce their total costs of ownership and how they can guarantee long-term operational efficiency. "Visitors can talk to our experts, examine the newest product inspection systems at our stand, get an overview of the latest technologies and exchange ideas with consultants from all over the world", said Jana Meier.

Management Information Systems
Software solutions are an integral part of Mettler-Toledo and play an important role at the interpack 2014:
The data management software ProdX 1.2 for integrated management of x-ray inspection, metal detection and checkweighing technologies will be presented. The software connects data from multiple systems and enables central monitoring from any location for improved process efficiency and allows for faster response times. The software also supports compliance with food safety standards and regulations.
Mettler-Toledo offers the network-based software solution FreeWeigh.Net, a highly configurable, standardised software system for statistic quality control (SQC) of filling and packaging processes. With the FreeWeigh.Net device integration module, a wide variety of devices can be connected to the system without additional programming. FreeWeigh.Net evaluates the data from many measuring devices and instruments such as checkweighers and static scales in order to comply with the fill quantity control, such as FPVO (German Packaging Regulations). The new software version 6.1.3 offers increased performance and compatibility, and supports a large number of measuring devices and instruments.
Pilot Site Manager (PSM) software for integrated track and trace line management provides enterprise-wide high visibility of data for the pharmaceutical industry. The software is a global solution and can be fully accessed by production managers from any location, enabling compliance with a wide range of regional requirements as well as allowing flexibility to meet future regulations. PSM forms the basis for unique item-level serialisation and aggregation of serial numbers to packaging units and boasts a mobile user interface. Simple integration to customised enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as SAP and central data warehouses is possible.
