Alpharetta, GA, 30004
USA

Press release date: March 28, 2012

March 28, 2012 (Alpharetta, GA) - Metcam, a fabricator of sheet metal components and assemblies for OEMs, announced today that it has certified as a finished goods supplier for Steelcase, a global office environments manufacturer. Metcam was first qualified by Steelcase in June 2011 and has successfully met all measurable performance requirements since that time.

Metcam is the only sheet metal fabricator in the Southeast to earn certified finished goods supplier status from Steelcase. The first products that Metcam is producing for Steelcase are highly cosmetic finished components for the Steelcase "Answer" line of office environments solutions.

Metcam is not only a supplier to Steelcase; Metcam is also a satisfied customer. Metcam recently renovated its Design Center and Materials Management Center with Steelcase furniture. "We love the clean lines and quality construction of the Steelcase products, not to mention their advanced ergonomics," said Metcam President Bruce Hagenau.

"We're excited to be working with a customer that is as committed to quality and sustainable practices as we are at Metcam," Hagenau said. "This represents a tremendous growth opportunity for Metcam in a new market segment. We believe our customer diversity is one of the keys to strong financial growth and management in this uncertain economy."

"Metcam's lean manufacturing principles, coupled with quality welding and paint processes, were top determining factors in certifying the company to be a finished goods supplier for Steelcase," explained Dave Roerig, Finished Goods Supply Chain Leader for Steelcase. "We're looking forward to working with Metcam because their principles are aligned with those of Steelcase to meet and exceed quality standards and improve efficiencies and effectiveness, all while managing resources well for the good of our customers, our employees and the environment."
